Snack Smarter: Building a Pantry That Doesn’t Rely on the Vending Machine
The easiest way to stop reaching for whatever’s closest at 3pm is to make sure something better is just as close. That means a pantry shelf — not a drawer at the back, an actual shelf at eye level — stocked with things you’d genuinely choose to eat.
A good rotation covers a few different cravings: something crunchy (nuts, roasted chickpeas), something chewy (dried fruit), and something with a bit of protein to actually hold you over (seed mixes, jerky). Buying two or three of these at a time, rather than one big bag of one thing, keeps the shelf interesting enough that you’ll actually go to it.
None of this requires cutting anything out. It just means the convenient option and the good option are finally the same option.
